Fatso Raven Forever
This isn't something new. But I saw this and I could not stop laughing and I immediately thought of you, and Brooke and Lauren too, and about how we loved this episode and quoting this part and then singing "When The Saints Come Marching In." I hope you laugh at this like I did, but then again I did just finish Defensive Driving so literally anything seems funny to me right now...

This is going to be the longest post ever and I'm not sorry.
It's the most wonderful time of the year again. Tony Awards time! I just watched them last night, and I have to say that this year I was really happily satisfied. I felt like there were multiple new musicals that were interesting and original and written for the stage and not based on cliche movies. And it was so nice to see that this year wasn't overrun with film celebrities randomly walking in to do one play, grabbing a Tony, and then leaving Broadway. Should I remind you of the year Catherine Zeta Jones won and she was drunk during her acceptance speech and her performance and it was awful? I mean, there were celebs in shows this year, but most of them didn't get nominated. The nominations went mostly to known Broadway names, or unknown names, and I thought it was really cool to see people getting nominated or winning not because of a big name, but because of their performance. That being said, some celebrities did win and I think it's honestly because they were the best. Anyway, it was a cool unique season with really talented people and I felt like awards went to people who really deserved them. Here are some of my fave performances.
First Les Mis revival, which didn't win anything. It didn't really surprise me, I heard it's not that great, plus I think every one is Les Mised out right now. But I figured you would want to see this because it is One Day More. And my friends Melissa and Tiz are in it. Oh, and beware of Eponine's vibrato. UGH. Someone removed the video. Here is them doing it on Good Morning, America.
Next is a musical called "Beautiful - The Carole King Musical". Carole King is a singer songwriter from the 70's, she sings You've Got a Friend, and other famous songs that you would only know if you heard them. I heard this show was really awesome, and this chick won Best Actress this year over Idina, Sutton, and Kelli O'Hara, so that's a huge deal. I think her voice is beautiful and that this was a really great clean performance.
Neil Patrick Harris won Best Actor for this crazy revival of a 70's glam rock musical about a kid with a failed sex change called Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and the chick who plays a dude won best Featured Actress. While it's raunchy, I thought this looked AWESOME.
Sutton Foster is in the revival of this musical called Violet, which is about this woman with a facial scar and she goes to find a reverend who can fix it. I just love the first song in this clip, and any musical that has a big black choir is fine by me. Cool fact: They don't actually mark a scar on Sutton's face but the way the show is done you understand it's there.
Also, check out the crazy little white chick in the choir. Love her.
Before I post my last favorite performance, I just wanted to put Audra McDonald's acceptance speech on here. This is her 6th Tony, and she is the first person to ever win Tony's in all 4 categories. I just really love this because of how humble and grateful she is, and because when I met her I thought she was the most down to earth, grounded, and kindest actress and person. I was thrilled that she won because I think she really deserved it.
Here is the last one. This show looks so incredible and hilarious. It's called "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" and from what I've heard is there is nothing else like it. It won Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Book, Nominations in every category for acting. I want to see it SO bad. And after seeing this clip I think you will understand why.
So there it is. Those were my most favorite performances, but I had to exclude some so as to not completely take over this blog. Just know that the Aladdin performance was awkward, Cabaret looked racy and super cool, and Idina Menzel sang a song from her new musical and she actually did a great job unlike at the Oscars. I hope you like these as much as I did, and I hope one day we will have all the money in the world so we can go see shows all the time.

If I Could Turn Back Tiiioooommmee
This is probably Jack McFarland's dream come true. This was filmed in 1978 for a TV Special called, "Cher... Special" which is a really promising title. Anyway, for your entertainment, here is a truncated version of West Side Story with every part, both male and female, being played by Cher. I hope the revival you saw on Broadway can compete with this amazing version.
P.S. - We do not need to watch the whole thing. I just wanted you to know that this exists.
